Fair Trade Claremont News

 In Events, Get Involved

Traffick Free Pomona believes that one way to freedom for the enslaved, will be collaboration of the many organizations that have dedicated themselves to the eradication of human trafficking. There are a multitude of ways to combat trafficking and Fair Trade Claremont has addressed the practice of labor exploitation.

We have partnered with Fair Trade Claremont in several events and we would like to bring awareness to the work they are doing. Support for Fair Trade is support for freedom.

Fair Trade Claremont is the Claremont chapter of the international Fair Trade Towns movement.

Fair Trade Claremont is committed to raising awareness and community level support for Fair Trade values.

Claremont is Southern California’s 1st Fair Trade Town.

THE DARK SIDE OF CHOCOLATE

Is the chocolate we eat produced with the use of child labor and trafficked children? The award winning Danish journalist Miki Mistrati decided to investigate the rumors. Follow Miki into the bush of Africa to expose The Dark Side of Chocolate, a documentary film shown on September 19 at 7pm at the Claremont Forum at the Packing House. A discussion and fair trade chocolate tasting will follow the film. Click on this link to watch the trailer www.thedarksideofchocolate.org
