Screening of Nefarious: Merchant of Souls at New Song Church

 In News

New Song Church in San Dimas hosted a screening “Nefarious: Merchant of Souls” on September 16. About 50 people came out to the event organized by Evelyne Kim to kick off the church’s new ministry. The film was followed by a panel discussion.

The film was eye-opening, heart-wrenching and hopeful. Many in the audience could be seen wiping away tears throughout the screening.

The film showed us how human trafficking is manifested in our world but fortunately that was not the end of the story. It also showed how Christ’s love is redeeming the lives of victims and Christians worldwide are following God’s call to be abolitionists of modern-day slavery. After the film we heard from those in our own communities who are battling against human trafficking.

Jeff Snawder represented Traffick Free Pomona on a panel that included Laila Mickelwait, Exodus Cry; A representative from California Against Slavery; Peggy Stapleton, Christians Actively Demolishing Exploitation; Paula Daniels, Forgotten Children, Wayne Bowser, Team Tory and Melissa Mills, International Justice Ministry.

After the viewing and panel discussion, attendees headed outside to the tables hosted by each of the organizations to get further information. It was a great opportunity to put the afternoon’s education into action.
